Amazon Web Services (AWS) aims to democratize student access to qualifications that align with the requirements of the technology job market. In collaboration with employers and universities, AWS launched the Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance program in Brazil, which also connects students with employment opportunities. The AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program makes high-value, cloud-optimized datasets publicly available on Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS works with data providers to democratize access to data by making it available to the public for analysis on AWS; develop new cloud-based techniques, formats, and tools that lower the cost of working with data; and encourage the development of communities that benefit from access to shared datasets. Through this program, customers are making over 100 petabytes (PB) of high-value, cloud-optimized data available for public use. This quarter, AWS released 39 new or updated datasets.

Satellite Resiliency for AWS Outposts offers a comprehensive, Partner-managed solution for resilient cloud-connected edge computing that extends the reach of Amazon Web Services (AWS) to the most remote and geographically dispersed environments on earth. AWS Outposts typically run connected to a parent AWS Region for resource management, access control, and software updates. When terrestrial network connectivity between an Outpost and its parent AWS Region is unavailable, this solution routes traffic back to the parent Region over a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connection, supporting business continuity and data residency requirements.

A recent study by Amazon Web Services and Market Connections reveals that 89 percent of public sector leaders consider adopting generative AI important for their organizations, with 43 percent interested in using it to improve operational efficiency. As generative AI reshapes public services, AWS offers comprehensive support and resources, including a $50 million initiative, to help organizations navigate adoption challenges and accelerate innovation in support of critical missions.
