Media for Government
Software-based video processing solutions from AWS Elemental help US federal, state, and local government customers overcome operational challenges, including bandwidth constraints, legacy infrastructure issues, support for multiple formats, and the ability to quickly and efficiently distribute video content at mission-critical security levels.
- Mission/Tactical: Deliver glass-to-glass video and related metadata from any sensor to any operator or decision-maker.
- Communications: Create, store, stream, share, and view HD and SD video from any source to any screen. Just-in-time packaging ensures the appropriate bitrate and wrapper for any device type.
- Broadcast: Distribute live and on-demand content via traditional broadcast or IP streaming with the ability to scale as viewer consumption and viewer device types multiply.
- Training: Capture training video and distribute both live and on-demand content to anyone, anytime, anywhere, and to any device.
- IPTV: Multicast internal video using MPEG-TS for bandwidth efficiency from live on-premises or from cloud to ground (HLS to MPEG-TS).
- Surveillance: Use video stream aggregation to capture live feeds from cameras and transcoding.
Full Motion Video (FMV)
Defense and ISR (Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Surveillance) operating units capture vast amounts of data from multiple sources, such as mobile content from agents on the ground, satellites, UAVs, and autonomous robotic systems. The challenge: transmitting and acting on captured data in real-time, due to constrained bandwidth and windows of opportunity. The secure dissemination of full-motion video (FMV) with synchronized KLV metadata to facilitate informed decision-making adds to the complexity of the operational challenges.
AWS Elemental provides simple, flexible video solutions to process real-time, full-motion video with data synchronization while conforming to MISB and DISA guidelines. Ideally suited to the Department of Defense and Special Operations Forces, applications include low latency-constrained dissemination of secure live video of the tactical arena to all levels of the command structure for enhancing situational awareness and decision making.

Interactive live streaming
Deploying low-latency interactive live video is simple with the Amazon Interactive Video Service (IVS). With just a few clicks, government agencies can create and stream live video to a website or native iOS or Android application with the Amazon IVS player SDK. Enhance the video stream with interactive capabilities such as chat, Q&A, and polling using timed metadata APIs.
