Overview
To make classroom learning more immersive and accessible, Caelestis Production, Inc. reimagined educational video creation using generative AI on Amazon Web Services (AWS). By building Firstlight Emperor, an AI-powered solution for creating bespoke educational videos on Amazon Nova Reel, the company cut video creation time by 90 percent. Firstlight has delivered content to over 30,000 students across 20 schools in the Philippines and achieved a 95 percent learner approval rating. With this momentum, Caelestis Production, Inc. plans to expand Firstlight to 1,500 institutions, supporting about 100,000 educators and over 1 million students across 80 countries by the end of 2025.
About Caelestis Production, Inc.
Caelestis Production, Inc. specializes in producing high-quality digital content, education systems, and artificial intelligence. Its flagship platform, Firstlight, aims to bridge technology, storytelling, and education to democratize access to quality learning.
Opportunity | Expanding immersive experiences in classrooms
Manual and costly production processes made it difficult for Caelestis Production, Inc. to scale its Firstlight platform for schools across the Philippines. Creating accurate visuals for historical or scientific subjects was time-consuming due to limited stock resources, often taking months—or even years—to complete a single subject. These inefficiencies slowed content delivery and limited how quickly the company could expand access to engaging video-based lessons nationwide.
Beyond speed and cost pressures, Caelestis Production, Inc. sought a scalable solution that could uphold its creative standards, protect student data, and safeguard intellectual property. It also required a technology provider that shared its values of creativity, responsibility, and long-term collaboration. Chrissie Bellosillo, chief operating officer at Caelestis Production, Inc. says, “We wanted to bring the magic of immersive experiences to more students to make learning as engaging and transformative as it can be.”
Solution | Modernizing video production with Amazon Nova Reel
Having built its Firstlight platform on AWS, Caelestis Production, Inc. turned to the same foundation to modernize its video creation process with generative AI. Working closely with AWS Solutions Architects, the team developed a new workflow around Amazon Nova Reel, a video generation model within Amazon Bedrock that creates high-quality videos from text and image inputs. The architecture uses AWS Lambda and Amazon API Gateway for workflow orchestration, Amazon DynamoDB for data management, and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) for secure user access. Content delivery is accelerated through Amazon CloudFront.
Caelestis Production, Inc. collaborated closely with AWS through a hands-on and iterative approach. When early test videos showed minor visual issues, the AWS team acted on Caelestis Production, Inc.’s’ feedback to improve model output. Bellosillo recalls, “When we weren’t satisfied with the quality of the video, everyone acted on it quickly and made changes to the backend.” This tight feedback loop helped the company refine prompt engineering and optimize production within weeks.
As a result of this collaboration, Caelestis Production, Inc. created Firstlight Emperor—an AI-powered service that empowers teachers and developers to generate bespoke educational videos from simple text prompts—on Amazon Nova Reel. The platform combines the company’s film background with AI-driven visuals to produce documentary-style clips and graphics that enhance student understanding. Each school can then define its own parameters and track engagement through embedded analytics.
Through a chatbot-style interface, authorized staff enter natural-language prompts, which Amazon Nova Reel transforms into photorealistic or animated videos. Leaning into the broader Firstlight infrastructure environment, the AI-powered service also provides customers with rich analytics and learning engagement data to monitor content impact.
Outcome | Reducing the time to create high-quality education content by 90%
By integrating Amazon Nova Reel into Firstlight Emperor, Caelestis Production, Inc. cut video production time by 90 percent, from months to days. Educators and subject matter experts can now produce up to 10 times more subjects each year, helping schools offer a broader curriculum faster. “Before introducing Amazon Nova, it took us 2−3 years to complete one grade level’s content,” says Bellosillo. “Now we can produce up to eight grade levels in a single year.”
The time savings helped Caelestis Production, Inc. close a major partnership with the De La Salle network of educational institutions, launching a new learning app called Indivisa: The Light Shines from our Undivided Hearts. Through this collaboration, Caelestis Production, Inc. has reached more than 30,000 students across 20 schools in the Philippines. Student feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with a 95 percent approval rating and teachers reporting stronger engagement in subjects such as science, math, and history. “The best feedback we’ve received from students is that we’ve found a way to make even the most challenging subjects interesting,” says Bellosillo. “That’s the kind of impact Amazon Nova Reel has had.”
Caelestis Production, Inc. plans to continue expanding Firstlight across the wider De La Salle network of 1,500 institutions in more than 80 countries, supporting about 100,000 educators and more than 1 million students by the end of 2025. The company can now produce content in multiple languages and deliver high-quality learning experiences to audiences worldwide. “Our serverless architecture keeps the platform dynamic,” says Bellosillo. “Every update is in near real-time, so customers always have the most optimized version of our product.”
Building on the same AI-based architecture, Caelestis Production, Inc. has also launched Firstlight Business, a solution designed for corporate learning, training, and internal communications. “There’s enormous potential in the corporate learning space, partnering with Fortune 500 companies and top institutions to provide more engaging learning experiences to employees. With AWS, we can bring the same creativity and intelligence that transformed classrooms into the workplace,” Bellosillo concludes.
The best feedback we’ve received from students is that we’ve found a way to make even the most challenging subjects interesting. That’s the kind of impact Amazon Nova Reel has had.
