Step 1 — Create an Instance
From the Amazon Lightsail console, click ‘Create Instance’. Select your AWS Region and Availability Zone if you would like to change from the default Instance Location. Select Linux/Unix as your platform and WordPress as your blueprint. Optionally, add a launch script, SSH key, or automatic snapshots for backup. Select your Instance Plan, then enter an Instance Name for your instance, making sure it’s a unique identifier.
Step 2 — Connect to WordPress
Wait until your Instance changes from 'Starting' to 'Running' in the Lightsail console, then select its Quick Connect icon. In the SSH client window pop-up, type ‘cat $HOME/bitnami_application_password’ to retrieve the default password. You’ll use this password to sign into your WordPress admin dashboard.
On the Instance description on the Lightsail console, find its public IP address. This is the 5-digit set IPv4 web address descriptor, separated by periods.
Open a new browser window and type ‘http://PublicIpAddress/wp-login.php’, inserting the IP address found on your Lightsail instance. In the WordPress login, type ‘user’ as the Username and the password from the SSH client pop-up as your password. This will bring up the WordPress administrator dashboard.
