MFA-protected access through AWS Identity and Access Management

You can now enforce MFA authentication for AWS service APIs via AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies. This provides an extra layer of security over powerful operations that you designate, such as terminating Amazon EC2 instances or reading sensitive data stored in Amazon S3.

AWS Elastic Beanstalk - More regions supported

Support for the US West (Northern California), US West (Oregon), EU West (Ireland) endpoints have been added to the SDK.

Expanded Signature Version 4 Adoption

Clients for the following services have been updated to sign requests using Signature Version 4:

• Amazon DynamoDB
• Elastic Load Balancing

Because Amazon DynamoDB supports SignatureV4, the AmazonDynamoDB class is no longer dependant on the AmazonSTS class for retrieving credentials and no longer needs to cache those credentials. This means that the default_cache_config config option is no longer required for instantiating the AmazonDynamoDB class.

Amazon S3

Resolved an issue in AmazonS3 where Content-Type and other headers weren't being preserved when updating an object. This affects update_object(), change_content_type() and change_storage_redundancy().
