As organizations accelerate their transition to cloud-based application delivery and agile DevOps, automated testing has become a vital part of maintaining quality at speed. As development teams adopt agentic coding tools such as Kiro, Cursor, Cline and Windsurf, the testing bottleneck has only become greater. However, traditional test automation often requires heavy scripting by human developers, result in brittle tests that require significant maintenance effort, and lack the intelligence needed to support evolving applications. In this post, you will learn how Rapise by Inflectra uses agentic AI powered by Amazon Bedrock to automate test creation, adapt to application changes, and reduce QA cycle times by up to 70%.
Inflectra, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) ISV Accelerate Partner, developed Rapise to bring agentic AI capabilities to enterprise software test automation. Rapise uses Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Nova to automatically generate test scripts, adapt to application changes, and flag compliance issues. This solution addresses the challenges faced by traditional test automation for modern applications.
In regulated industries especially, such as healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, and financial services, testing is integral to delivery assurance and compliance. But legacy automation frameworks struggle to keep up with the speed of modern, agentic AI enabled software pipelines or the increasing complexity of enterprise systems. Inflectra’s Rapise test automation system, now with agentic AI capabilities through connection with Inflectra.ai, uses foundation models (FMs) hosted on AWS to help bridge this gap.
How Rapise Uses Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Nova
Rapise uses Inflectra’s new cloud-based AI service, Inflectra.ai, built on Amazon Bedrock, which users can use to perform a variety of generative AI and agentic AI enhanced software testing tasks.
Both Rapise and Inflectra.ai use the Amazon Nova Pro and Claude Opus by Anthropic in Amazon Bedrock family of models to perform several key generative AI tasks. These include creating automated test scripts from manual test cases, generating synthetic test data, analyzing test results for patterns, and identifying potentially brittle or underdeveloped tests.
The following screenshot highlights the use of AI capabilities to create automatic test cases.

With Inflectra.ai, Rapise offers several more advanced agentic AI features that are powered by Amazon Bedrock and the Claude Sonnet by Anthropic in Amazon Bedrock family of models. Testers can use these AI agents to:
- Autonomously test an application visually from business scenarios and manual test cases, handling key exploratory testing use cases
- Simulate user flows using natural language and carry out test actions without the need for traditional, brittle object-based test automation
- Flag usability, accessibility, and compliance issues automatically using visual models based on risk profiles
- Automatically refactor existing automated test scripts to adapt to application changes using visual identification, a process known as “self-healing” tests
The following screenshot demonstrates how a tester can include qualitative tasks as part of an automated test case. For example, testers can ask the testing agent: “How many input fields do you see?” or “How does the page look?”

Agentic AI for Smarter, Scalable Test Automation
Traditional test scripts are often fragile. A minor UI update or API schema change can break test flows. But with the use of agentic AI in Rapise, the automation suite adapts dynamically. Rapise agents learn from prior test executions and application metadata, using this context to self-correct and propose alternative test paths by visually inspecting the application.
This reduces test flakiness, maintenance overhead, and ultimately boosts team productivity. For enterprises in regulated industries, these agents work in concert with the wider Inflectra.ai solution to help enforce traceability and compliance. To do so, Rapise and Inflectra.ai track requirements coverage, automatically tag risks, and log interactions in audit-ready formats.
A leading biotech firm recently adopted Rapise with Inflectra.ai running on Amazon Bedrock to replace their existing, aging test infrastructure. Using Amazon Bedrock powered test agents, their quality assurance (QA) team successfully reduced test case creation time by 60% and identified 35% more critical defects prior to product release. More importantly, Inflectra.ai-generated validation documentation and Rapise-backed traceability reports streamlined their FDA validation workflows.
Rapise and AWS Architecture Overview
The following architectural diagram highlights how Inflectra.ai integrates with Rapise, including support for customer-deployed instances of Rapise. Notably, Inflectra.ai connects to the customer’s Rapise API server over a secure connection, allowing direct integration with their testing environment. Inflectra.ai offers support for the entire Inflectra range of solutions, including Rapise and Spira. Today, supported models include the Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude family of models.

Conclusion
By integrating Amazon Nova and Claude models through Inflectra.ai, Rapise can generate automated test scripts from manual test cases, autonomously test applications using visual models, self-heal brittle tests by adapting to UI changes, and flag usability and compliance issues automatically. For teams navigating complex compliance requirements or rapid development timelines, this means smarter QA, faster product releases, and higher confidence.
