Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the establishment of the first AWS Joint Innovation Center (JIC) in Hong Kong at last fall’s AWS Startup Day. AWS JIC is a collaborative innovation program designed to help enterprises and institutions combine resources, incubate promising startups, and nurture digital talent that further strengthens Hong Kong’s technology ecosystem.

The company’s services are available in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, and Indonesia, where it provides over 30 million lab results for patients across these clinics. BioMark enables medical professionals to access lab results quickly and efficiently, allowing for faster and more accurate diagnosis and treatment. They use AWS to build their digital solutions.

Healthcare organizations worldwide are embracing the concept of connective devices using the internet of medical things (IoMT). Logiksavvy Innovations (LSI) is a healthcare technology (HealthTech) startup that focuses on research and development (R&D) of innovative technologies that impact healthcare, self-care, and the community. LSI set out to develop an IoMT solution with the capability to detect and prevent critical health events. Working with AWS through the Health Equity Initiative, LSI collaborated with AWS ProServe to develop a viable proof-of-concept with the AWS Cloud.

AMILI is a healthcare technology (HealthTech) company based in Singapore that seeks to advance precision medicine and personalized health and nutrition by harnessing the potential of the microbiome. AMILI uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) on AWS to comprehensively quantify and characterize gut microbiomes. AMILI aims to build and curate the world’s largest multi-ethnic Asia microbiome database.

The healthcare technology (HealthTech) startup contextflow uses AWS to power its clinical decision support system that can help radiologists diagnose patients faster and with more accuracy. The software can search, retrieve, and compare historical diagnostic data to help guide radiologists in writing reports. It is currently being utilized to analyze lung computed tomography (CT) scans for interstitial lung diseases (ILD), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and lung cancer screenings.

AlayaCare, a Canada-based health technology organization founded in 2014, offers a platform for home and community care organizations. The cloud-based platform provides an end-to-end solution for care providers, including back office functionality, client and family portals, remote patient monitoring, and mobile care worker functionality. AlayaCare aims to help care providers by arming them with the technology and data insights they need to deliver personalized care. Using AWS, AlayaCare is building their vision of the future of in-home and virtual care.
