How National University worked with AWS Partner ConcernCenter to provide scalable, customizable mental health support

At National University (NU), a California-based university serving a high proportion of military and adult learners, the COVID-19 pandemic drove an increase in student requests for support. With nearly 20,000 in-classroom and online students nationwide, offering quality support during the pandemic was challenging. NU worked with ConcernCenter, an AWS Partner, to develop customized and scalable mental wellness support options for their students.

How the Think Big for Small Business program helps small businesses win big contracts

The Think Big for Small Business (TBSB) program provides AWS Partners with access to AWS Partner Programs, financial incentives, and additional visibility with customers and AWS teams. Since March 2021, more than 500 partners from 41 countries have participated in the TBSB program, and have launched more than 1,200 opportunities with public sector customers. My favorite part of re:Invent, this year and every year, is the opportunity it provides to hear directly from AWS Partners and customers. As always, I’m impressed by the value that partners are delivering for customers, and I’m encouraged at the opportunities ahead of us to continue innovating, simplifying, and delivering results. For any partners who weren’t able to attend on-site, I want to share what the worldwide public sector partners team is working on to better serve partners. Here are a few announcements you may have missed.

How Nomad uses Amazon IVS to scale public court livestreams

According to the United States Constitution, public access to judicial proceedings is a right covered by the First and Sixth Amendments. To make hearings visible to the public, even when in-person attendance is limited, state and local governments are beginning to mandate many court proceedings be live streamed, often with a very short window to do so. The cloud-native media and asset management platform Nomad, which is built on AWS, helps governments implement scalable live streaming capabilities quickly and simply.

This year, re:Invent from Amazon Web Services (AWS) is back in-person, in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Monday, November 29 through Friday, December 3.
