Helping micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises make economic and societal impacts with cloud technologies

AWS released a report that examines the potential benefits of moving to the cloud for micro, small, and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs) addressing societal issues. Conducted by Accenture, the “Realizing a Cloud-enabled Economy: How Cloud Drives Economic and Societal Impact through Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Businesses” report reveals that MSMEs in the healthcare, education, and agriculture sectors are expected to unlock up to US$161B in annual productivity gains and support 95.8 million jobs by 2030, equivalent to 8% of the total employment on average across the 12 countries studied.

New research for public sector CIOs as they prepare for digital assets

Public sector regulatory agencies are at an inflection point as digital assets have emerged in the private sector in the form of cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). To inform this process, AWS has collaborated with industry analyst firm, Constellation Research, to write a new research report available to the public. “The CIO Imperative for Digital Assets in the Public Sector” presents an exploration of the requisite topics to get CIOs and their teams up-to-speed and ready for this journey.

In June 2022, AWS Partner Coursera launched the annual Global Skills Report, an in-depth look at the state of skills globally. The Global Skills Report draws data from 100 million learners in more than 100 countries who have used Coursera, a global online learning platform, to develop a new skill during the past year. New research shows EU and UK healthcare sectors could save 14.4 billion euros with AWS

The AWS Cloud Economics Centre published a new analysis that identified 14.4 billion euros in potential information technology (IT) savings across the European Union and United Kingdom healthcare sectors over the next five years—the equivalent of 5,665 euros per hospital bed—through the digital transformation of IT systems by migrating to the cloud.

Running government workloads securely at the edge

Edge computing moves data processing and analysis close to endpoints where data is generated to deliver real-time responsiveness, and reduces cost associated with transferring large amounts of data. Edge environments include Internet of Things (IoT) or mobile devices, sensors, video cameras, and other connected resources.
