To help accelerate firms building SaaS solutions on AWS, the SaaS Factory team led an effort to build a new AWS Well-Architected SaaS Lens. With this release, AWS Partners have another tool to help customers with SaaS workloads on AWS. The SaaS Lens can be applied to existing workloads, or used for new workloads you define in the tool. There are no costs in using the Well-Architected Tool. Developers and architects can use it to improve their applications or get visibility into multiple workloads.

It has undoubtedly been a challenging year for the travel and hospitality industry. At AWS, we are keenly aware of this and are committed to helping our customers build resilience for the long run. To support customers at this crucial time, we are proud to announce the launch of the new AWS Travel and Hospitality Competency. This designation takes on the heavy lifting of identifying and validating the most experienced AWS Partners who can help industry customers succeed—specifically at times of disruption.

AWS helps first responders, public safety agencies, and emergency and disaster response organizations complete their mission and mitigate impact to communities affected by emergencies and disasters. In 2019, we announced the launch of the AWS Public Safety & Disaster Response Competency for AWS Consulting Partners. Now, we are excited to launch an additional track within this AWS Competency that showcases specialized and dedicated AWS Technology Partners.

At AWS, we are committed to supporting the global energy industry in safely meeting the energy demands the world needs today, while accelerating their transition to a more balanced and sustainable energy future. The AWS Energy Competency will formally launch in 2021 and introduce AWS Partners who have achieved this high-bar designation. Through the AWS Energy Competency, customers will have access to highly specialized AWS Partners for assistance in accelerating their digital transformation.

Recognizing the complexity of a mainframe migration, AWS customers seek proven methodologies, tools, and best practices to empower successful migrations. The APN plays a critical role in these efforts by providing proven technology products and services for customers’ mainframe migrations. We are excited to pre-announce the launch of the AWS Mainframe Modernization Competency which gives customers confidence in choosing right right AWS Partners to team up with.

Systems are growing more complex, cloud applications are growing in adoption, and cloud data lakes are being increasingly deployed. At the same time, organizations need to implement data cataloging solutions to provide data governance, data analytics, or pure metadata management. Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) scans and catalogs an enterprise’s data assets, whether hosted on the cloud or stored on-premises.

Cloud is on the business transformation agenda for customers all across the world, and CIOs acknowledge how critical it is for them to have partners with the right set of skills to achieve the desired pace of transformation. At AWS, we see our Global System Integrator (GSI) partners offer customers advisory services along with the skilled resources required to take ideas to completion and enable digital transformation regardless of industry.

For more than a decade, customers have run their most strategic workloads on AWS, including SAP, VMware, and Windows, due to AWS’s experience, maturity, reliability, security, and performance. While an increasing amount of customers are migrating their strategic workloads to AWS, the majority of businesses still run these critical workloads on-premises. AWS Partners serve as trusted advisors to many of these customers, supporting their migration and innovation journeys on the AWS Cloud.

A successful cloud strategy doesn’t rely on one person, or one department to execute—it takes a true team effort. In 2019, Red River Technology came to this realization, broke down internal silos, and leveraged talent across the company to better deliver for our customers. This was due in large part to their participation the AWS Partner Transformation Program (PTP), which included a comprehensive assessment of the company’s cloud organization, as well as a detailed and customized Transformation Plan.

The SaaS delivery model has become increasingly appealing to a wide range of companies. For many, the move to SaaS represents a significant transformational event that requires companies to examine all the moving parts of their business. Based upon our experience with thousands of AWS Partners across the world, we have created a new SaaS Journey Framework whitepaper that introduces a prescriptive framework to guide you through a SaaS journey on AWS.
