Improve application performance by connecting directly to AWS and bypassing the public internet.

Secure your data as it moves between your network and AWS with multiple encryption options.

Reduce your networking costs with low data transfer rates out of AWS.

How it works

AWS Direct Connect is a cloud service that links your network directly to AWS, bypassing the internet to deliver more consistent, lower-latency performance. When creating a new connection, you can choose a hosted connection provided by an AWS Direct Connect Delivery Partner, or choose a dedicated connection from AWS—and deploy at over 100 AWS Direct Connect locations around the world.

Use cases

Build hybrid networks

Link your AWS and on-premises networks to run AWS services anywhere—in your data center, near large metro areas, or in any AWS Region.

Power real-time applications

Bypass the internet entirely and provide a more consistent low-latency network experience for applications with voice, video, and real-time performance needs.

Manage large data sets

Ensure smooth and reliable data transfers at massive scale—multiple terabytes, or even petabytes—for real-time analysis, rapid data backup, or broadcast media processing.
