The annual Global Partner Summit was held Dec. 2-6 at AWS re:Invent 2019, and we are excited to introduce the APN’s new program launches and key initiatives for 2020. Global Partner Summit helps APN Partners to leverage AWS technologies and learn how the APN program can help companies build, market, and sell their AWS-based offerings. This post will showcase the new APN programs that partners can take advantage of today, including AWS Service Ready and the APN Global Startup Program.

Mainframe proprietary storage solutions such as VTLs hold valuable data locked in a platform with complex tools. This can lead to higher compute and storage costs, and make it harder to retain existing employees or train new ones. When mainframe data is stored in a cloud storage service, however, it can be accessed by a rich ecosystem of applications and analytics tools. BMC AMI Cloud Analytics enables mainframe customers to backup and archive directly to AWS.

To build even stronger relationships with their audience, the American Cancer Society sought a way to interact with users and drive increased app usage and donations. To get there, they teamed up with Braze, which has been providing brands with built-for-purpose customer engagement capabilities since 2011. The Braze platform makes messages feel more like conversations between you and your customers across channels such as push notifications, email, in-app messages, and more.

Security and compliance are primary considerations for many AWS customers as they begin their cloud journey. Public sector customers, in particular, face obstacles and challenges using commercially available solutions that may not have an Authority to Operate (ATO). To help customers overcome these obstacles, the Authority to Operate on AWS program provides resources to solution providers who need assistance pursuing a compliance authorization.

Mainframe cold storage based on disks and tapes is typically expensive and rigid. BMC AMI Cloud Data improves the economics and flexibility by leveraging AWS storage for archival, backup, and recovery of mainframe data. BMC AMI Cloud Data enables mainframe customers to leverage modern cloud technologies and economics to reduce data recovery risks and improve application availability by providing a software-defined solution for archive, backup, and recovery directly from AWS.

In California alone, hundreds of thousands of previous marijuana offenders are haunted by a blemished record, even after the passing of the Adult Use of Marijuana Act, or Prop 64, in 2016. Two years later, only a tiny fraction of all marijuana convictions in the state have been reported. To help solve this challenge, Code for America is providing much-needed guidance to petitioners through Clear My Record, a free service built on AWS that helps people with criminal records begin the clearance process.
