AWS Partners demonstrate the transformative power of the cloud at 2022 NAB Show
The 2022 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas featured a variety of new technologies for media and entertainment built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). For example, AWS Partners demonstrated the transformative power of the cloud for content production, media supply chain and archive, broadcast, direct-to-consumer and streaming, and data science and analytics at the industry event. AWS Partner offerings are part of a wider AWS for Media & Entertainment initiative. These offerings are designed to simplify how content stakeholders use the cloud to reinvent media workloads. AWS Partners featured solutions for content creators, rights holders, producers, broadcasters, and distributors.

Amagi achieved the Amazon CloudFront Ready designation, indicating its validation for following best practices with Amazon CloudFront. Amagi uses AWS to provide cloud broadcast and targeted advertising solutions to broadcast and streaming television platforms as well as 24/7 cloud-managed services to broadcast operations. Amdocs announced MetaVU, a Vubiquity solution that helps content providers and video distributers store, manage, augment, localize, and distribute metadata. Built on AWS, MetaVU uses content tagging solutions automated by artificial intelligence to help to enrich the customer experience through more targeted promotions. Autodesk introduced Flame on AWS, a cloud-based, 3D-compositing and visual-effects software. By working in the cloud, Flame gives artists the flexible, scalable tools they need to fuel their creativity and deliver professional-grade content from virtually anywhere, at any time. CHESA introduced Acorn Cloud, a fully managed software-as-a-service media asset solution built on AWS. Acorn helps users ingest, organize, transcode, proxy edit, search, enrich, and deliver media assets in the cloud from a centralized dashboard. Chyron launched a suite of new products and features, including enhancements to the PRIME Platform, a live production engine for broadcasters. Dalet introduced two new digital media workflow solutions that run on AWS. Dalet Flex for Teams democratizes key media logistics use cases, such as library management and multiplatform content distribution. Dalet Pyramid provides plug-and-play centralized planning, remote editing, and digital production for newsrooms. Dalet also launched Dalet Flex for Teams, a software-as-a-service media logistics solution that runs on AWS. Databricks launched Lakehouse for Media and Entertainment, a unified data-warehousing solution that can run on AWS. With a robust underlying infrastructure, Databrick’s customers can derive more value from their data to drive audience engagement. Evergent announced that its Customer Care and Billing (CCB) 3.0 product is now available in AWS Marketplace. Built on AWS, CCB 3.0 helps streamline customer relationship management and monetization across global digital media offerings while providing tools to accelerate business growth. Grabyo introduced its cloud-native, broadcast-grade live production workflow built on AWS, alongside several new capabilities of its cloud video platform. Intelsat announced Cloud Connect Media, a connectivity solution that establishes a private, dedicated gateway between the Intelsat Media Network and AWS. MediaKind announced it has joined the AWS Partner Network, which will help the company accelerate customers’ digital transformations and unlock the benefits of working in the cloud. Mux achieved the Amazon CloudFront Ready designation, indicating its validation for following best practices with Amazon CloudFront. Prime Focus Technologies announced that its artificial intelligence solution CLEAR Vision Cloud is now running on AWS. SSIMWAVE announced the availability of its products in AWS Marketplace, beginning with its video-on-demand (VOD) Monitor. This makes it simpler for over-the-top providers to find and deploy SSIMWAVE solutions and better monitor their video experiences. TrackIt and Cinegy demonstrated their media workflow using AWS solutions. TrackIt ingested content using Cinegy Capture, saving the stream to a global file system from AWS Partner Hammerspace. Hammerspace provided local access to content through an editorial environment in the cloud. Vizrt released Viz Vectar Plus 1.2, the newest version of its NDI-native switching software—which includes more audio inputs, neural voice isolation powered by artificial intelligence, and NDI 5 and NDI Bridge compatibility. While making these updates, Vizrt participated in AWS Foundational Technical Review, validating its live production software for cloud-based deployments.
