Today at the IMAGINE: Nonprofit conference, AWS launched the 2023 AWS IMAGINE Grant cycle. Each year, the grant program provides a holistic package of resources, including unrestricted funding, to nonprofit organizations pursuing cloud technology projects for mission impact. Through the IMAGINE Grant, AWS discovers nonprofits that are bringing high-impact technology projects to life. New this year, nonprofits applying for the Momentum to Modernize award may now receive up to $50,000 in funding towards their foundational cloud projects. Learn how to apply now.

Today, AWS announced the addition of new nonprofit solutions in the AWS Solutions Library and AWS Marketplace. These solutions are tailored to the unique requirements of credit unions and nonprofit research organizations. They range from architectural guidance to ready-to-deploy solutions, and also include offerings developed by AWS Partners. Learn the solution categories that collect these new solutions into important mission areas, as well as some of the specific solutions that can help credit unions or research organizations get started with AWS.

Today, AWS announced the 11 participants chosen for the AWS Healthcare Accelerator Australia/New Zealand for Aged Care and Digital Health. The cohort is developing a range of solutions, using the power of the cloud, to improve equitable access to health, social, and aged care services; support aged care and health service providers to deliver higher quality care; and promote new and productive ways of delivering services.

The Republic of Armenia’s Ministry of High-Tech Industry and AWS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of modernizing the technological infrastructure of the state and accelerating the adoption of cloud services in the public and the private sector of Armenia. The collaboration with AWS, a global leader in cloud computing, provides a unique opportunity to drive Armenia’s modernization and digital transformation, an integral part of the national agenda and a catalyst to strengthen Armenia’s position as a regional leading technology hub.

AWS announced AWS Modular Data Center. This new service provides U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) customers with the ability to deploy compute and storage capabilities to support large-scale workloads wherever they need it, including in Disconnected, Disrupted, Intermittent, or Limited (DDIL) environments. Instead of relying on limited data center infrastructure or building from the ground up, this offering delivers a cost-effective, self-contained modular data center solution that supports customers’ data center scale workloads.

AWS today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) to boost innovation using cloud technology. Through this collaboration, AWS will support MHESI to identify pilot workloads for the ministry to start migrating to the AWS Cloud. MHESI will also use AWS training programs to upskill employees on AWS Cloud skills across over 200 education institutions and over 20 MHESI-managed research and education agencies across Thailand by early 2026.

Now in its third year, the AWS Space Accelerator is a hybrid technical, business, and mentorship opportunity open to space startups from around the globe who are looking to power their space missions using AWS. In 2023, the AWS Space Accelerator will call on teams and resources across Amazon to help emerging startups focus on cloud-powered solutions that support the use of space as a sustainable and usable environment for years to come, as well as solutions that positively impact life on Earth. The application period for the 2023 AWS Space Accelerator opens today, with proposals due by March 6, 2023.

AWS announced the launch of the Cloud Audit Academy (CAA) for Federal and DoD Workloads (FDW) in AWS. This is a two-day accelerated training course to educate customers on how to leverage AWS services to assist with US Federal and Department of Defense (DoD) security and compliance requirements.
