US state and local government and education customers can get in-person no-cost training, hands-on help, and more at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) State and Local Learning Days. AWS will offer one-on-one support and more at two AWS State and Local Learning Days events. There will be one event from September 20-22 in Scottsdale, AZ at the Arizona State University (ASU) Smart City Cloud Innovation Center. Another event will take place from September 27-29 in Sacramento, CA at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center.

Built for a range of government and education customers, from mission owners to cloud technical experts to IT managers, the AWS State and Local Learning Days can help you improve your cloud knowledge and learn new ways to achieve your mission outcomes. AWS educational sessions for customers in state and local government and education

Whether you’re a cloud expert or just beginning your journey, the daily AWS training sessions at the AWS State and Local Learning Days will cover a range of technical and mission-oriented topics to help hone your skills. You can expect to learn about cloud practitioner and technical essentials, delivering innovation, and creating a security compliant cloud environment. Daily session themes include:

AWS Cloud Essentials for government and education

Join for an introduction to AWS Cloud concepts and AWS core services for compute, storage, database, and networking. Hear AWS technical experts who support government customers explain key features and use cases, share best practices, and walk through brief technical demos. AWS experts will also be available to answer your questions one-on-one.

AWS Cloud for your mission

These sessions are for those who are looking to explore the mission benefits of AWS. AWS helps you use the cloud to turn ideas into mission outcomes—creating new ways to increase efficiency and serve your community. The morning series will consist of sessions on mission-oriented topics, followed by technical sessions in the afternoon covering modern data strategy, enhancing constituent engagement, and strategies to enable remote learning and working. When you’re not in a session, utilize the co-working space or meet with your AWS account team to brainstorm implementation of what you learned.

The AWS Cloud Journey

These sessions are about the path to business results through modernization. Join AWS technical experts to learn about the technology that can help you to build, govern, and secure your cloud environment. You will learn about technology that will enable you to build and migrate workloads into the cloud, and modernize your workloads to achieve your results.

Dive deep with AWS experts at the “ask an expert” bar

AWS staff will be onsite to give one-on-one project guidance from 8:30 AM – 5 PM local time. Simply walk up to the bar and dive into your cloud questions. Once you’re on track, take advantage of the co-working space or join one of the educational sessions in progress.

Connect and network in the co-working space

Our spaces offer comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, and activities for further learning. The co-working space is designed for you to settle in and immerse yourself in your projects. Onsite, you can collaborate and network with like-minded mission-oriented peers. Complimentary coffee and snacks will be served.
