Announcing the keynote speakers for the AWS Summit Washington, DC 2022
At the AWS Summit Washington, DC, vice president of worldwide public sector at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Max Peterson, will take the stage to talk about the public sector’s digital transformation and celebrate the pioneers who are breaking barriers and driving change. Max will share announcements, customer stories, and updates on initiatives that we hope will inspire you. The keynote on Tuesday, May 24 at 11:30 AM ET will also feature three AWS customer speakers who will share stories of how they’re leveraging the cloud to get the agility, resilience, and security needed to keep pushing boundaries.

Amazon and AWS to reimagine space station operations and logistics for Orbital Reef
How will humans explore, experiment, and sustain long-term habitation in low Earth orbit (LEO)? Orbital Reef is the next generation space station currently in development to provide commercial and research space activities in LEO, as well as space tourism capabilities. Amazon Distribution and Fulfillment Solutions (Amazon) and AWS are helping Orbital Reef reimagine networking, logistics, and communications that will be an integral part of the next space station.

The IMAGINE: Nonprofit conference in Washington, DC brought together leaders, technologists, and mission-driven innovators in the nonprofit sector to learn, connect, and inspire. Available now: The 2022 AWS IMAGINE Grant opens funding for nonprofits
AWS is committed to enabling the nonprofit sector with cloud technology tools and nonprofit-specific resources to help them innovate and expand their impact. The AWS IMAGINE Grant is designed to support nonprofits pursuing high-impact, innovative technology projects with vital financial and technical resources. Now in its fifth year, the program offers two distinct award categories for nonprofits to receive support based on their organizational goals and stage of their technology adoption journey. AWS signs new Cloud Framework Agreement with Malaysia to power public sector innovation
AWS signed a new Cloud Framework Agreement (CFA) with the Malaysian government, together with local IT provider and AWS Partner Radmik Solutions Sdn Bhd, to help accelerate cloud adoption in the public sector and help agencies save costs, boost digital skills, and drive innovation. AWS is the first international cloud service provider to have concluded and signed a CFA with the Malaysian government, as part of our long-term commitment to support Malaysia’s digital transformation.
Brazilian Space Agency and AWS sign Statement of Strategic Intent to support long-term growth in regional space sector
The Brazilian Space Agency and Amazon Web Services (AWS) signed a Statement of Strategic Intent and Cooperation. The initiative, on which the Brazilian Embassy in Washington also collaborated, is the first of its kind for AWS in Latin America, and will support innovation and the continued growth of the country’s space industry.
