AMD-powered instances are integral to these offerings, and with AMD’s announcement of fourth-generation AMD EPYC processors AWS plans to offer Amazon EC2 instances powered by the newly-introduced processors. Federated learning (FL) addresses the need of preserving privacy while having access to large datasets for machine learning model training. The NVIDIA FLARE (which stands for Federated Learning Application Runtime Environment) platform provides an open-source Python SDK for collaborative computation and offers privacy-preserving FL workflows at scale. NVIDIA is an AWS Competency Partner that has pioneered accelerated computing to tackle challenges in AI and computer graphics.

PKWARE has been working on finding and protecting sensitive data in a range of data stores over the last 10 years. PK Protect Data Store Manager (DSM) on AWS is PKWARE’s flagship product that can scan for sensitive elements in structured and unstructured data, and optionally mask or encrypt the data. Organizations can also monitor access to the sensitive data using PK Protect DSM. In this post, we describe the steps to scan objects in Amazon S3 buckets and protect them with masking or encryption.
