Today, I was thrilled to host the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Public Sector Partners Forum in advance of the AWS Summit Washington, DC. In my keynote, I spoke about, “celebrating, listening, and acting on your input”—highlighting our customer obsessed approach to AWS Partners and customers. I shared many exciting stories from our AWS Public Sector Partners as well as some of the great programs we’ve rolled out to help accelerate missions, migrations, and modernization. Here’s what you might have missed:

Helping our partners achieve their customers’ missions

Electronic Caregiver (ECG) announces ADDI, a highly intelligent and engaging remote patient monitoring platform

AWS Partner ECG’s mission is to design and deliver innovative, impactful telehealth products and services that bridge the chasm between the doctor’s office and patient’s home to improve outcomes, expand access, and optimize resource allocation. ECG is launching ADDI, a scalable platform as a service (PaaS), built on AWS. ADDI provides caregivers real-time, curated, and actionable information through the incorporation of Internet of Things (IoT), voice interface via Amazon Polly and Amazon Lex, natural language processing, as well as data analytics and reporting—all built on AWS. ECG collaborated with regional public health officials, hospital systems, and universities in New Mexico to implement a COVID-to-home program to address a surge in COVID-19 cases, which led to hospital bed capacity expanding by 77%, using ADDI’s remote patient monitoring at 1/50th of the cost of inpatient care.

On top of ADDI, ECG built Addison, their patient-facing virtual caregiver application. Addison is in homes today undergoing beta testing and will be generally available. Learn more about ADDI.

AWS Partner Government Competency now the largest industry-focused AWS Competency Program with over 100 partners

The AWS Partner Government Competency now has the most members of any industry-focused AWS Partner competency. The AWS Competency Program helps customers find and engage the world’s top AWS Partners that have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in a specialized solution areas and industries. To receive the AWS Competency designation, AWS Partners undergo a rigorous technical validation related to industry-specific technology. This program helps partners differentiate themselves from the tens of thousands of APN Partners, for their verified expertise working within the unique parameters of a government customer’s needs. AWS Healthcare Accelerator cohort participants announced

The AWS Healthcare Accelerator—announced in Junenow has its first cohort. Selected by AWS and KidsX, these ten companies were chosen from 427 applications from 31 countries around the world as members. The group has 90% diversity of leadership and 70% are female founded. The accelerator aims to help address the crucial need for healthcare innovation and collaborative solutions that can help healthcare customers respond to their challenges and rapidly innovate with data-driven and compliant solutions. The AWS Healthcare Accelerator is a new customer-focused program where selected startups receive technical, business, and go-to-market mentorship from experts from AWS and the KidsX network, up to $25,000 in AWS Promotional Credit, and collaboration opportunities with AWS healthcare customers, healthcare industry leaders, and members of AWS Partner Network (APN) looking for healthcare solutions. VMWare on AWS awarded FedRAMP High

VMWare on AWS is now FedRAMP High. VMWare used Authority to Operate (ATO) on AWS to achieve FedRAMP High Agency ATO; AWS worked collaboratively with VMWare to build and validate a well-architected solution design and roadmap to achieve this milestone. VMWare on AWS can now be sold via AWS Partners. VMWare leveraged AWS’s ATO for FedRAMP to help accelerate their authorization. The ATO on AWS program is no cost. Under the ATO on AWS program, solutions architects helped automate and engineer workloads. Additionally, AWS introduced AWS Partner InfusionPoints to support the advisory and build, and AWS Partner Coalfire Systems supported the audit as the 3PAO. Learn more about VMWare on AWS.

Healthcare certifications through ATO are fastest growing in 2021

Our fastest growing ATO on AWS segment in 2021 is healthcare compliant/certified solutions for HIPAA and HITRUST in 2021—an 85% increase from 2020. The ATO on AWS team provides guidance and resources to partners to achieve public sector compliance authorizations. The pandemic has spurred the need for rapid transformation, making this certification more critical to our partners. Pathway to healthcare cloud solutions with Ingram Micro Cloud, ClearData and Keystone Technologies

AWS Partner Ingram Micro Cloud launched its Healthcare Cloud Partnership Pathway program with ClearData and Keystone Technologies to help healthcare customers scale and pursue more complex business in healthcare and life sciences. These partner-ready solutions built exclusively for healthcare professionals helps healthcare organizations transform and innovate in a multi-cloud world, with a focus on securing sensitive patient health information. AWS Migration Competency Partners has doubled since 2020

Since re:Invent 2020, the number of AWS Migration Competency Partners in the public sector has doubled. We are seeing sustained momentum from customers interested in gaining the benefits of moving to the cloud which creates new business opportunities for our partners and value for our customers. Smartronix and Amazon Managed Services (AMS) team up to provide NextGen MSP services

Public sector and regulated industries can check out Smartronix’s Cloud Assured Managed Services (CAMS) platform, which is now fully integrated with AMS Accelerate to provide customers with full stack management. Unlock insights with data: data-led migrations

Using data-led migrations and advanced data analytics solutions, AWS Partners create repeatable and scalable solutions that provide increased operational efficiencies and profitability for companies, agencies, and governments, and are able to make thousands of new real time decisions in the cloud with solutions from partners like DataBricks, Splunk, and DataCom. Helping our partners help their customers modernize

stackArmor creates a new security offering to extend their ThreatAlert® solution to include capabilities from Splunk and Telos

Now available: FASTTR (Faster ATO with Splunk, Telos, and ThreatAlert® for Regulated markets) on AWS. ATO on AWS brought Splunk, Telos Corporation, and stackArmor together to create FASTTR. FASTTR was developed by stackArmor to accelerate FedRAMP, FISMA, and CMMC ATOs for AWS Partners in hyper-regulated markets using stackArmor’s ThreatAlert® ATO Accelerator. Leveraging best of class technologies such as Splunk and Telos’s Xacta ® 360 for continuous monitoring and automation, the ThreatAlert ® ATO Accelerator reduces the time and cost of an ATO by 40% using a dedicated authorization boundary protect with NIST compliant security services and pre-packaged ready-to-go documentation. FASTTR was made possible by the Authority to Operate (ATO) on AWS program. ATO on AWS reduces the time and cost associated with achieving compliance certifications and authorizations while enabling a capability to continuously develop, integrate, and monitor a solution throughout its life cycle. The program is a partner-driven process which includes training, tools, pre-built AWS CloudFormation templates, control implementation details, and pre-built policy/procedure artifacts. 360Fashion to hold AI and ML Python Programming Challenge

360Fashion, an AWS Startup, is working with Robociti.com, a platform for students and professionals to quickly learn robotics skills and connect talent with potential employers, to hold the AI/ML Programming Challenge later this year. The month-long Python programming challenge is recruiting women to participate, to promote more women to join the robotics field. Registration opens in October and the event is in December. IoT Rapid Adoption Assistance Initiative for Public Sector Partners

For AWS Partners interested in growing their Internet of Things (IoT) practice, we launched the IoT Rapid Adoption Assistance Initiative for Public Sector Partners. Through the initiative, AWS Partners can get assistance from AWS subject matter experts to envision, technically enable, and build and deploy IoT solutions. Zoom taps AWS to expand their public sector business

Now available: Zoom’s first product listings in AWS Marketplace specifically for US public sector customers. The launch includes two software as a service (SaaS) product listings including both a standard commercial and a FedRAMP authorized version: Zoom and Zoom for Government. The listings provide customers with AWS Marketplace conveniences such as ease of access, flexible pricing terms, simplified billing, quick deployment, and license management. Customers in every industry choose to work with AWS because of its extensive global partner network that spans more than 100,000 Partners in 150 countries around the world, and its robust Marketplace that offers more than 10,000 partner products with highly flexible contracting options.

Both the commercial product and the FedRAMP approved version in AWS GovCloud (US) are now available. Zoom has designated Carahsoft to manage their AWS Marketplace distribution for public sector. Carahsoft and Zoom utilized AWS Partner Tackle.io’s Cloud Marketplace Platform and industry expertise to list, integrate, and manage Zoom’s AWS Marketplace business. Two new programs for the public sector: AWS ProServe Ready and APN Navigate

AWS ProServe Ready trains and matches AWS Partners to AWS Professional Services (ProServe) subcontract engagements, delighting end customers and aligning our partners with AWS ProServe. We completed a successful pilot in June 2021, and are formally rolling out the program in the US and EMEA. Contact us to learn more about the program.

Earlier this year, the APN Navigate Program expanded to offer dedicated tracks to help new and existing AWS Partners build a successful public sector practice. Called Public Sector Foundations, these tracks are open to all registered AWS Partners with the goal of helping them do business in the public sector and define their specialty to accelerate their route to market with AWS. Girls in Tech and AWS work together to develop next generation of tech women in public sector

Today, we announced with Girls in Tech a program for education/awareness for the next generation of public sector and service leaders globally called the Next Generation of Public Sector and Service Leaders. This program consists of a mentoring program, “a day in the life” shadowing, a job board area specific to the public sector, and future tech used by the public sector today.
