SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), a statutory board under the Ministry of Education (MOE), aims to promote a culture of lifelong learning in Singapore and strengthen the country’s ecosystem of industry-relevant training and adult education. To power their digital training portal and make sure every Singaporean has access to training resources, education opportunities, and more, SSG uses AWS.

AWS is leading a pilot project to turn the Greek island of Naxos in the Aegean Sea into a smart island. Designed in collaboration with 20 Greek and international companies, the Smart Island project was developed with the support of the Greek government, local authorities, and the US Embassy. The project will leverage advanced AWS Cloud technologies, and will introduce smart solutions for mobility, primary healthcare, and the transport of goods, such as vessel monitoring and reporting from a coastline tower, and the delivery of blood samples and medical supplies via drone.

Japan’s High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), is a Nobel Award-winning Inter-University Research Institute, and one of the world’s leading accelerator research institutes. To further help researchers understand human biology, AWS and KEK recently announced a collaboration to develop GoToCloud, a KEK-led cloud platform that makes protein analysis faster and more cost-effective, boosting KEK’s research efforts and improving our understanding of disease.
