We are pleased to announce that Elastic Load Balancing is integrated with AWS Certificate Manager to provision, manage, and deploy Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) certificates.
One of the most important capabilities of the load balancer is its ability to perform SSL offload. In order to do SSL offload, the load balancer needs a certificate attached to one or more secured listeners. Integration with AWS Certificate Manager makes it simple to deploy a certificate to the load balancer. Typically purchasing, uploading, and renewing SSL/TLS certificates is a time-consuming and manual process. With AWS Certificate Manager integration, this process is shortened to requesting a trusted SSL/TLS certificate and selecting the certificate to deploy it with the load balancer. AWS Certificate Manager manages the renewal and deployment that can help you avoid downtime due to expired certificates.
Using AWS Certificate Manager to generate and deploy certificates helps you enable SSL/TLS very easily for your website or application behind the load balancer.
