We are pleased to announce two new features that help customers and partners integrate the Snowball with existing data management applications and workflows.

With the Snowball Job Management API, customers and partners can integrate their own applications with a Snowball, and create and manage jobs outside of the AWS management console. The API is a simple, standards - based REST web service interface used to create, list, update, and cancel jobs from anywhere on the web.

Customers now have direct access to the Snowball as if it were an S3 endpoint with the new Snowball S3 Adapter. Data may be moved and encrypted directly from an application, avoiding staging prior to a copy job via the Snowball client. These features are available to all Snowball customers today.
