AWS Glue now supports the Scala programming language, in addition to Python, to give you choice and flexibility when writing your AWS Glue ETL scripts.

You can run these scripts interactively using Glue’s development endpoints or create jobs that can be scheduled. To get started, please refer to our samples.

AWS Glue is a fully managed extract, transform, and load (ETL) service that makes it easy for you to prepare and load data for analytics. AWS Glue is serverless, so there is no infrastructure to set up or manage. With a few clicks in the AWS Management Console, you can create and run an ETL job. You simply point AWS Glue to your data stored on AWS, and AWS Glue discovers your data and stores associated metadata (e.g. table definition and schema) in the AWS Glue Data Catalog. Once cataloged, your data is immediately searchable, queryable, and available for ETL.

AWS Glue is available in the AWS Regions US East (Northern Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), EU (Ireland), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo).
