Amazon EC2 Fleet Now Lets You Increase Target Capacity Limits

Posted on: Feb 20, 2019

Amazon EC2 Fleet simplifies the provisioning of EC2 capacity across different instance types, Availability Zones (AZs), and purchase options to optimize for scale, performance, and cost. Allocation strategies let you determine how EC2 Fleet should select from the instance types and AZs you have specified to fulfill the desired capacity.

Now you can request to increase the limits for the target capacity for your AWS account in a selected region. By default, there is a soft limit of 10,000 units per single EC2 Fleet and 100,000 units for target capacity across all Fleets in a region. If you need more than the default limits, you can complete the AWS Support Center create case form to request a limit increase. For *Limit type*, choose *EC2 Fleet*, indicate the Fleet limit increase you need for Target Fleet Capacity per Fleet or Target Fleet Capacity per Region or both. You can also request a limit increase for Spot Fleet target capacity using the same steps.
