Today, Amazon Pinpoint announced general availability of Custom Channels, enabling businesses to engage their customers on additional channels such as in-product messaging or social media. Marketers no longer need to learn multiple tools in order to reach their customers over a variety of applications. Using Custom Channels they can leverage the already familiar Amazon Pinpoint targeting and campaign features to reach their customers on their channel of choice - adding new ones as needed.
Businesses can get started from the CLI or the Amazon Pinpoint console. All they need to do is select the “Create a Campaign” button and choose “Custom Channel”. Customers will then pick a segment and endpoint types to send to the AWS Lambda or URL. Marketers can choose to send all endpoint types for a multi-channel campaign blast or pick specific types like a custom endpoint. They then select the AWS Lambda or URL they want to use to process their endpoint, schedule the campaign, and launch. It is as easy as sending an email.
This feature is now available in the following AWS Regions: US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Europe (Dublin), Europe (Frankfurt), Asia-Pacific (Mumbai), and Asia-Pacific (Sydney). You can learn more in the Amazon Pinpoint User Guide.
