EBS direct APIs for Snapshots are now available in five additional regions: Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Hong Kong), Middle East (Bahrain), AWS China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and AWS China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
With EBS direct APIs, backup providers can now easily track incremental changes on EBS volumes via EBS snapshots and streamline their workflows to reduce backup times by up to 70%. They can directly read snapshots and get differences between two snapshots without needing to create EBS volumes and EC2 instances. This enables backup providers to provide more granular recovery point objectives (RPOs) to AWS customers at lower costs.
