AWS now offers fully-compliant, Amazon-provided licenses for Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) on Amazon EC2. These AMIs are now available on the Amazon EC2 console and on AWS Marketplace to launch instances on-demand without any long-term licensing commitments. With this offering, customers have the flexibility to run Microsoft Office on EC2. Amazon EC2 provides a broad choice of instances with the flexibility of paying only for the optimal capacity and hardware configuration Microsoft Office users need.

IT administrators or license administrators can easily manage the access to Microsoft Office for their end users via AWS License Manager. Administrators have the flexibility to modify the end user access on a monthly basis. Customers are billed per vCPU for the Amazon EC2 License Included Windows Server instance, and per-user per-month (non-prorated) for Microsoft Office and Remote Desktop Services (RDS) Subscriber Access License (SAL) licenses.

Microsoft Office AMI on Amazon EC2 is generally available in US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), Africa (Cape Town), Asia Pacific (Hong Kong), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Milan), Europe (Paris), Europe (Stockholm), Middle East (Bahrain), and South America (São Paulo).
