Today, we are excited to announce a public preview of AWS Mainframe Modernization Application Testing, an AWS Mainframe Modernization service feature that automates functional equivalence testing of mainframe applications being modernized with the AWS cloud. This new feature provides cloud-native testing capabilities including test capture, on-demand automated test replays, comparisons, and regression testing at scale. Available as a part of AWS Mainframe Modernization service console, the Application Testing feature is designed to offer a simplified testing experience that is highly scalable across a wide range of mainframe testing use cases, with support for parallel test runs and visualization of testing results.
By enabling customers to reduce the testing related technical debt by using a reliable and repeatable suite of granular automated tests, application testing reduces application modernization and migration project complexity, risk, and costs and enhances the project speed, reliability, and return on investment. Even after a migration project is done, AWS Mainframe Modernization Application Testing supports “Test Early, Test Often” best practice for software testing, DevOps/CICD methodologies, test parallelism, and test scalability in a cost-efficient pay-as-you-go cloud consumption model. As a result, system integrators and mainframe customers can modernize mainframe applications to the cloud faster with higher confidence, reduced effort, lower cost, and create opportunities for innovation.
The feature is now available for preview at no additional charge to AWS Mainframe Modernization service customers.
