Today, Amazon Web Services, Inc. launches the general availability of Application Composer in VS Code, available as part of the AWS Toolkit. You can use AWS Application Composer’s drag-and-drop interface to create an application design from scratch or import an existing application definition to edit it.

The availability of Application Composer in the AWS Toolkit for VS Code will enable you to quickly iterate your applications’ logic and infrastructure. You can drag, drop, and connect AWS services into an application architecture by using AWS Application Composer’s visual canvas. Application Composer provides default configuration and integration for a set of enhanced components, and you can use generative AI code suggestions to quickly get started with any of CloudFormation's 1000+ resources.

Your entire development cycle will be simplified and expedited by instantly visualizing the changes in your template while staying in the context of your Visual Studio Code IDE. Visualizing your application architecture helps you better understand the relationship between your application services and identify gaps and areas of improvements. You can jump-start your development cycle using Application Composer IDE extension to quickly prototype a concept, and sync with your development environment with a push of a button.

AWS Application Composer is available at the AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio Code. To learn more, please visit our documentation and the blog.
