A Texas regional education service center’s cloud journey starts with Amazon QuickSight

Texas Region 4 ESC (TX-Region 4) is a regional education service center that offers a range of services that help K12 education organizations improve student performance, enable faculty success, and implement state initiatives. When TX-Region 4 wanted to migrate its business intelligence (BI) solution to the cloud, they turned to AWS and Amazon QuickSight to save time and produce more insights to better their educational offerings.

Calming airport data turbulence with EASE

Airports receive data from dozens of disparate sources, but this data can lack the collective unity needed to see the bigger picture. The Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) saw an opportunity to turn down the proverbial volume on their data. Using AWS, CVG created a first-of-its-kind tool using data for predictive analytics and proactive notifications, now known as Enterprise Awareness & Situational Exceptions (EASE).

Booz Allen speeds migration and reduces costs for a US government agency with the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP)

Moving sensitive US government data to the cloud requires the meticulous application of a proven migration methodology, skilled resources, a robust solution, and a mature logistics model. A US government agency elected to move its Security and Information Event Management (SIEM) system from a virtualized, on-premise environment to the AWS Cloud. AWS Partner Booz Allen performed the migration and used the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) and AWS Snow Family of devices as mechanisms to help the customer save time, reduce costs, and increase their agility to develop new features for their constituents.

My favorite part of re:Invent, this year and every year, is the opportunity it provides to hear directly from AWS Partners and customers. As always, I’m impressed by the value that partners are delivering for customers, and I’m encouraged at the opportunities ahead of us to continue innovating, simplifying, and delivering results. Protect critical services with new Continuity of Government IT on AWS solution guide

Today, AWS announced Continuity of Government IT on AWS (CGIT), a comprehensive cloud-based solution guide that enables governments to protect their digital assets and services during disruptions of any kind. Governments can use CGIT to retain the integrity of critical datasets, back up applications, and transfer services to run in the cloud, reducing the risk of compromise and enabling continuity of government.

Announcing nine startups selected to participate in the AWS Sustainable Cities Accelerator for Infrastructure

AWS announced the startups chosen to participate in the AWS Sustainable Cities Accelerator for Infrastructure. These startups are developing groundbreaking solutions to help cities address infrastructure-related sustainability challenges. Infrastructure, or the built environment, encompasses all aspects of our lives, and includes real estate, manufacturing, power, utility, and transportation systems. The nine startups in the cohort originate from four countries across North America, Latin America, and Europe, and represent a wide range of innovative sustainable solutions.

Now available: New AWS program supporting nonprofit donor and member engagement

As one-time donations increasingly become the norm, nonprofit development teams are challenged to think outside-the-box to attract, retain, and communicate with their valuable supporters. Nonprofit organizations can use data to inform an enhanced engagement strategy, but many are challenged to unlock the full value of that data affordably and at scale. To help nonprofits use the cloud to build innovative fundraising and member engagement solutions, we are launching a new program – AWS TechAction.

Amazon and George Mason University collaborate to deliver new innovations in education and research

George Mason University (Mason) is on a mission to build a more student centric and technologically advanced education institution. Leveraging the breadth and depth of services across Amazon, including technical solutions from Amazon Web Services (AWS), the university will embark on a multi-year collaborative effort. Mason will drive new innovations to better serve students, work with the defense community, advance its commitment to a more sustainable campus environment, and introduce new educational programs in data center engineering.
