Gillian is Head of Cloud Engineering & AI at Workgrid Software. Workgrid is a Liberty Mutual startup company focused on delivering an intelligent workplace platform and digital assistant product. Prior to Workgrid, Gillian, who is based at the Liberty IT Belfast office, was Architect of the Liberty Mutual Cognitive Technology team responsible for explorations into how AWS conversational AI could be leveraged to improve the employee experience.
Gillian is a passionate advocate of cloud native architecture with a keen interest in how conversational interfaces, machine learning and AI can be applied within an AWS serverless SaaS architecture to deliver amazing new capabilities. Gillian has presented at AWS re:Invent, ServerlessConf, AWS User Groups, and numerous local events and loves chatting about AWS services & cloud architecture.
Her current interests include: CI/CD leveraging conversation as code, multi modal, multi channel conversational experiences, intelligent search combining NLP, search and machine learning, applying AI to Ops, security and monitoring, and how to Lambda all the things.
