Simplicity of operations
Fully serverless operations
Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon Aurora DSQL eliminate maintenance windows through zero downtime operations. Patches, updates, and scaling happen automatically in the background while your applications continue running uninterrupted. This capability, proven through millions of automated operations, ensures your applications remain available while the underlying infrastructure evolves. You simply connect through an API and all server operations are automatically handled.
Zero-ETL into lakehouse
Getting value from your application data stored in your operational databases has never been easier. DynamoDB zero-ETL integration with Amazon SageMaker Lakehouse automatically replicates your selected data into the lakehouse to support all of your analytics and AI needs from SQL analytics to big data processing to search analytics to generative AI. AWS offers zero-ETL integrations across its operational databases to the lakehouse and to Amazon Redshift. Your data remains fresh and synchronized automatically, eliminating the operational overhead of traditional data movement with building and managing ETL data pipelines. It also has built-in intelligence such as automated schema drift corrections.
Easier updates and upgrades
Amazon RDS Blue/Green Deployments supports safer, simpler, and faster updates by creating a fully managed staging environment that allows you to deploy and test production changes, keeping your current production database safer. With a few clicks, you can promote the staging environment to be the new production system in as fast as a minute with no data loss and no changes to your application to switch database endpoints. It uses built-in switchover guardrails that will time-out promotion of the staging environment if it exceeds your maximum tolerable downtime, detects replication errors, or identifies instance health check errors. Blue/Green Deployments makes it easy to implement major version database engine upgrades, schema changes, maintenance updates, and scaling instances.
Built-in automation
AWS Databases come with built-in automation to handle complex operational tasks such as performance optimization through automated parameter tuning, storage scaling and optimization, backup operations with point-in-time recovery capability, and security patches and updates. Automation removes operational complexity.
