Amazon Transcribe is now available in Asia Pacific (Seoul) and EU (Frankfurt) with added language support for Spanish (ES)

Amazon Transcribe is an automatic speech recognition (ASR) service that makes it easy for you to add speech-to-text capabilities to your applications. Starting today, Amazon Transcribe becomes available in two new AWS regions, Asia Pacific (Seoul) and EU (Frankfurt). Additionally, new language support for Spanish (ES) is now available in all regions where Amazon Transcribe is available.

Amazon Transcribe enables organizations to increase the accessibility and discoverability of their audio and video content, serving a breadth of use cases. For instance, contact centers can convert call recordings into text and analyze the data for actionable intelligence. Media houses can automate subtitling workflows for greater engagement and accessibility. Enterprises in the legal domain can transcribe archives of recorded meetings or court proceedings to make the content accessible and searchable by detecting key terms. And marketing analytics platforms can use Amazon Transcribe to convert real-time social media content into text to conduct downstream insight extraction.

Amazon Transcribe now supports the following languages for its batch service: US English, British English, Australian English, French, Canadian French, US Spanish, ES Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, German, and Korean.

Amazon Transcribe is now available in the following AWS regions: Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Canada (Central), South America (Sao Paulo), EU (Ireland), EU (London), EU (Paris), EU (Frankfurt), US East (Northern Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon).
