Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is now available with AWS OpsWorks. Get access to updated Linux kernel and packages (Python, PHP, LXC, MySQL, Apache, etc) with this Ubuntu release.

Since the beginning of this year, OpsWorks has added a number of new features ranging from new AWS resources support to updated programming language support. You can use the new Amazon EBS General Purpose (SSD) volumes as well as EBS Provisioned IOPS (SSD) volumes. We have added support for new Amazon EC2 instance types (c3, r3, and m3) along with the ability move RAID volumes between EC2 instances. OpsWorks has also updated support for Ruby (2.0 and 2.1) and Node.js (0.10.21, 0.010.24, 0.10.25, 0.10.27). Finally, you can now choose to associate your EC2 instances with custom EC2 security groups or OpsWorks built-in security groups.

Try out these new features in the AWS Management Console.
