CloudTrail support for Autoscaling and Simple Queue Service (SQS)

Posted on: Jul 16, 2014

We are excited to announce that Autoscaling and Simple Queue Service (SQS) API calls are recorded and available in CloudTrail. If you have turned on CloudTrail for your account, you do not need to take any action. All Autoscaling API calls are recorded and available in your CloudTrail log files. The following SQS API calls are recorded and available in your CloudTrail log files.

  • AddPermission
  • CreateQueue
  • DeleteQueue
  • RemovePermission
  • SetQueueAttributes

Using CloudTrail log files, You can now answer questions such as which user created or deleted an SQS queue, when was an EC2 instance added to an AutoScalingGroup or what is the source IP address of an Autoscaling API call. To learn about information recorded by CloudTrail, go to the CloudTrail event reference and examples.

If you haven’t turned on CloudTrail for your account, you can turn on CloudTrail from the AWS Management Console in as few as two clicks.
