AWS Announces New Office in South Africa

Posted on: Apr 21, 2015

We are pleased to announce that Amazon Web Services has opened an office in Johannesburg to support the growth of the cloud computing business and its rapidly expanding customer base in the country. The office is now open and operational, and is supporting businesses of all sizes from start-ups to the country’s oldest and most established enterprises and public sector organizations.

This news comes as Amazon celebrates over ten years in South Africa. Amazon first established a presence in the country by opening a development center in December 2004 to help build the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) service and has also been the location for the engineering of many pioneering networking technologies and next generation software.
