Magento on the AWS Cloud: Quick Start Reference Deployment

Posted on: Sep 4, 2015

Quick Starts are automated reference deployments for key enterprise workloads on the AWS cloud. Each Quick Start launches, configures, and runs the AWS compute, network, storage, and other services required to deploy a specific workload on AWS, using AWS best practices for security and availability.

This new Quick Start reference deployment covers the implementation of Magento Community Edition in a highly available architecture on the AWS cloud, using AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon VPC, and Amazon RDS. Magento is an open-source content management system for e-commerce websites. This automated deployment builds a cluster that runs Magento along with optional sample data.

The automated AWS CloudFormation templates included in the Quick Start support two customizable deployment options: end-to-end deployment into a new Amazon VPC, and deployment into your existing AWS infrastructure. The Quick Start also includes a deployment guide, which describes the Magento architecture on AWS, provides step-by-step instructions for deploying and configuring the software, and discusses customization options and design/performance considerations.
