Amazon CloudWatch adds Horizontal Annotations for Metrics and Dashboards
We are excited to announce that you can now add horizontal annotations to your graphs and dashboards in CloudWatch.
Horizontal annotations can serve as quick visual checks of metrics crossing pre-defined values, such as SLA limits, or provide contextual information for interpreting metric values. You can add lines at key values on the Y-axis, and optionally shade areas between the lines, so that you can analyze your graphed metrics at a glance.
To get started, you can add horizontal annotations via the AWS Management Console or programmatically add them using Dashboards APIs via the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) and AWS SDKs.
Horizontal annotations are available in all AWS Commercial Regions.
