Amazon Elasticsearch Service now supports versions 5.6 and 6.3 for both open-source Elasticsearch and Kibana. Elasticsearch 5.6 includes a number of bug fixes and optimizations to improve search performance. Elasticsearch 6.3 offers autocomplete for Kibana queries and improvements to aggregation and ranking APIs.
You can now create new domains running Elasticsearch 5.6 or 6.3 and also easily upgrade existing 5.x and 6.x domains with no downtime using in-place version upgrades.
The new versions of Elasticsearch and Kibana on Amazon Elasticsearch Service are available across 15 regions globally: US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), Canada (Central), South America (Sao Paulo), EU (Ireland, London, Frankfurt, Paris), and Asia Pacific (Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul, Mumbai).
