The Amazon VPC Container Networking Interface (CNI) plugin version 1.2.1 is now available. All new clusters managed by Amazon Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes (EKS) now launch with CNI plugin version 1.2.1.
The Amazon VPC CNI plugin makes it easy to take advantage of the isolation and networking model of the Amazon Virtual Private Cloud with Kubernetes.
Version 1.2.1 of the CNI plugin include several bug fixes and improvements to make running Kubernetes pods on Amazon EKS a more stable and performant experience. Version 1.2.1 of the CNI plugin adds support for additional Kubernetes networking features, like NodePort and hostPort, more instance types, and the allocation of Pod IP addresses from custom VPC Security Groups and Subnets. For a full list of features that are included in each release, see the Changelog.
To start using CNI plugin version 1.2.1, create a new EKS cluster or upgrade the version of the CNI plugin on an existing cluster. For more information about upgrading the CNI plugin, see the Amazon EKS documentation.
