AWS Batch now supports Amazon EC2 Instances Featuring AMD EPYC Processors

Posted on: Nov 20, 2018

Starting today, you can use AWS Batch with workloads running on AMD-based r5a and m5a instances.

AMD-based EC2 instances provide additional options for customers who are looking to achieve a 10% cost savings on their Amazon EC2 compute environment for a variety of workloads. M5a instances are ideal for business-critical applications, web and application servers, back-end servers for enterprise applications, gaming servers, caching fleets, and app development environments. R5a instances are ideal for high performance databases, distributed web scale in-memory caches, mid-size in-memory databases, real time big data analytics, and other enterprise applications.
