Stream data from Microsoft Windows based services using the Amazon Kinesis Agent for Microsoft Windows

Posted on: Nov 6, 2018

You can now use the Amazon Kinesis Agent for Microsoft Windows to stream data from Microsoft Windows based services into AWS for monitoring, analysis, and visualization. For example, Amazon Kinesis Agent for Microsoft Windows can stream logs, events, and metrics from Microsoft services such as Exchange and DHCP, or from your own services deployed on Windows to AWS services. You can then detect service failures, performance issues, security issues, etc. and automatically take action to resolve the issues. With Amazon Kinesis Agent for Microsoft Windows you have in-depth visibility into the health of your deployed services throughout your operational environment.

Amazon Kinesis Agent for Microsoft Windows is a highly configurable and extensible agent. It runs on Microsoft Windows laptops, desktop computers, and servers, either on-premises or in the AWS Cloud. It can parse, filter, decorate, and transform events, logs, and metrics en route to Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, and Amazon CloudWatch for real-time or near real-time processing. It eliminates cloud-based log processing by parsing and transforming logs into standard formats such as JSON. The visualization and business intelligence tools in the data pipeline can then immediately consume these formats.

Amazon Kinesis Agent for Microsoft Windows is free to use and is available now on GitHub. Visit the AWS user documentation to learn more about the Amazon Kinesis Agent for Microsoft Windows
