Amazon Elasticsearch Service announces support for Elasticsearch 6.4

Amazon Elasticsearch Service now supports open source Elasticsearch 6.4 and Kibana 6.4. The new version of Elasticsearch and Kibana offers several new features and improvements, including weighted average aggregation, option to multiplex token filters, support for field aliases, and improved workflow for inspecting the data behind a visualization. 

You can now create new domains running Elasticsearch 6.4 and also easily upgrade existing 5.6 and 6.x domains with no downtime using in-place version upgrades

The new version of Elasticsearch and Kibana on Amazon Elasticsearch Service are available across 18 regions globally: US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), AWS GovCloud (US), Canada (Central), South America (Sao Paulo), EU (Ireland, London, Frankfurt, Paris), Asia Pacific (Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul, Mumbai), China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
