Use the new Amazon CloudWatch metrics for Amazon DynamoDB Accelerator (DAX) to better understand your DAX clusters’ performance. Determine more easily whether you need to scale up your cluster because you’re reaching peak utilization, or if you can scale down because your cache is underutilized.

DAX provides a fully managed, highly available, in-memory cache for DynamoDB that can accelerate reads from DynamoDB tables by up to 10 times, even at millions of requests per second. DAX does all the heavy lifting required to add in-memory acceleration to your DynamoDB tables. You provision a DAX cluster, use the DAX client SDK to point your existing DynamoDB API calls to the DAX cluster, and let DAX handle the rest.
