Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) now supports running containers on AWS Fargate in four additional AWS regions: Europe (Frankfurt), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Singapore), and Asia Pacific (Sydney).
Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) is a managed service that makes it easy for you to run Kubernetes on AWS. AWS Fargate provides on-demand, right-sized compute capacity for containers that run as Kubernetes pods as part of an Amazon EKS cluster. EKS and Fargate make it straightforward to run Kubernetes-based applications on AWS by removing the need to provision and manage infrastructure for containers.
Now, you can use Fargate to run your Kubernetes containers managed by Amazon EKS in 8 global AWS regions:
1. US East (N. Virginia)
2. US East (Ohio)
3. US West (Oregon)
4. Europe (Ireland)
5. Europe (Frankfurt)
6. Asia Pacific (Singapore)
7. Asia Pacific (Sydney)
8. Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
