Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus (AMP) is a new, fully managed Prometheus-compatible monitoring service that makes it easy to monitor containerized applications at scale. The Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s Prometheus project is a popular open source and alerting monitoring solution optimized for container environments.

With Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus, you can use the open source Prometheus Query Language (PromQL) to monitor the performance of containerized workloads on AWS or on-premises, without having to manage the underlying infrastructure for scalability, availability, and security. AMP automatically scales the ingestion, storage, and querying of operational metrics (from, for example, your Kubernetes clusters) as workloads grow or shrink, and is integrated with AWS security services such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS PrivateLink, and AWS CloudTrail to enable fast and secure access to data. The service is also integrated with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), and AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry.

Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus is available in preview in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), EU (Frankfurt), and EU (Ireland). See the product overview page for more information and to get started.
