AWS has updated Serverless Bot Framework, an AWS Solutions Implementation that automatically sets up a chatbot application with sample interactions. This update enables customers to build and iterate on their chatbots faster. The new functionalities help customers scale the use of their chatbots with additional languages and support for more natural conversations.

The solution now allows customers to choose newly integrated Amazon Lex as the bot’s brain or the original custom-made ML model. When Amazon Lex is chosen as the brain module for the bot, the user’s requests are sent to Amazon Lex for intent detection and processing. Compared to the custom model, Amazon Lex V2 offers multiple languages in a single bot, easy addition of a new language to an existing bot, sentiment analysis of requests sent to the bot, support for bi-directional streaming features such as barge-in and configurable timeout. Amazon Polly can be used to convert text to life-like speech in this solutions for Amazon Lex or the custom ML model.
