AWS IoT Core now enables customers to customize the behavior of their data endpoints, making it simpler to onboard IoT applications with existing devices in the field. Customers can now configure their data endpoints with custom domain names and associated server certificates stored in AWS Certificate Manager. They can also attach custom authorizers, and create multiple data endpoints for their account.
Configurable Endpoints help customers to maintain a consistent interface for existing devices as they transition their IoT applications to AWS IoT Core. For example, by configuring custom domain names and custom authorizers for their data endpoints, customers can avoid having to provision their devices with new credentials and CA certificates when connecting them to AWS IoT Core. This simplifies the migration process by minimizing the need for customers to perform software updates on devices in the field.
Configurable Endpoints are available in all AWS regions where AWS IoT Core is present, except AWS China and AWS GovCloud (US) regions. Visit the Configurable Endpoints documentation page to learn more about this feature. For more information about AWS IoT Core, visit the product page.
