The AWS Solutions team recently updated AWS Streaming Data Solution for Amazon MSK, an AWS Solutions Implementation that provides an automated configuration of the AWS services necessary to easily capture, store, process, and deliver streaming data.

This release adds support for Apache Kafka version 2.8.0 and version 2.6.2 which includes security fixes and features that improve performance. This update also adds a new parameter allowing customers to save on cost by providing the size (in GiB) of the EBS volume for the broker nodes and provides support for enhanced partition-level monitoring to the Amazon MSK cluster (when enabled, this monitoring level makes consumer lag metrics available in Amazon CloudWatch).

Also included in this update are AWS CDK assets that have been developed for use with the Amazon MSK Labs, which are a learning resource for getting started with Amazon MSK, and also explains how to leverage advanced features (such as Cruise Control, TLS mutual authentication, and open monitoring). You can apply these features to clusters created using the solution.

Additional AWS Solutions are available on the AWS Solutions Implementation webpage, where customers can browse solutions by product category or industry to find AWS-vetted, automated, turnkey reference implementations that address specific business needs.
