In-app messaging enables customers to display targeted messages in mobile or web applications, and provide a personalized user experience. When an end user is engaged with a mobile or web application, customers can use in-app messaging to show relevant content to drive high-value user actions such as: repeat purchases, key content promotion, and user onboarding. After initial implementation these messages can be created and launched through the Pinpoint console, without the need to make code changes.

In-app messaging allows customers to design messages with a visual preview using pre-built templates, and options to A/B test up to five messages in one campaign. Amazon Pinpoint segmentation is used to select target users for the campaign based on attributes such as historical spend or last appointment visit. Customers can pick where to display the message within the application, along with how many times it should be viewed. Finally, the results of the campaign can be shown in Amazon Pinpoint analytics to optimize future campaigns, and allow messaging or creative to be fine-tuned.

In-app messaging is generally available in the following regions: US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), and AWS GovCloud (US-West).
