AWS Outposts 1U and 2U rack-mountable servers are now generally available.

Outposts servers provide local compute and networking services to edge locations that have limited space or smaller capacity requirements. Outposts servers are ideal for running workloads that need low latency or local data processing on-premises, while providing seamless access to the broad array of AWS services in the cloud. Outposts servers allow you to bring the same AWS services, infrastructure and operation models to locations like branch offices, factories, healthcare clinics and hospitals, cell sites or retail stores. The 1U server is 19“ wide, 24” deep, and is available with C6gd instances powered by Graviton2, with 64 vCPUs, 128 GiB memory, and 4 TB of local NVMe storage. The Outposts 2U server is 19“ wide, 30” deep, and is available with C6id instances powered with 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, with up to 128 vCPUs, 256 GiB memory, and 8 TB of local NVMe storage. You can run Amazon EC2 instances for Virtual Machines, use VPC for networking, and run Amazon ECS for containers with support for Amazon EKS coming soon. Outposts server capacity can be managed by the same in-Region tools like Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS Code Deploy that you use to deploy applications in the AWS Region or to Outposts racks.
